Lorient striker, Terem Moffi, has rejected the offer to join Ligue 1 giants Olympique Marseille, Boldsportsng.com reports.
Respected French publication L’Equipe has reported that the Nigerian is opting for a move to OGC Nice who have since intensified their chase for the in-form striker who has found the back of the next 12 times in 18 appearances.
Nice has been in hunt for the 23-year-old who is reported to had verbally agreed to join Les Aiglons on New Year’s eve. Nice have had three bid rejected by Lorient but will be hoping to go in with a fourth bid which they hope will be enough to land the striker they’ve coveted throughout the transfer window.
It had also been reported that Marseille were front runners for the Nigerian having offered cash plus player in exchange for his services. Moffi has also been on the radar of Premier League clubs – Bournemouth, Southampton and West Ham United who are still in the race for his services having already submitted a bid of £25m and £5m in add-ons.
Pablo Longoria, Marseille Chief Executive Officer had traveled to Lorient but failed to convince the Nigerian to commit to a move. The striker is currently anticipating the conclusion of the talks between Nice and Lorient.
