The victor of the two-legged encounter in April will secure one of the two slots allocated to Africa in the 12-nation competition. The first leg is slated for the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on April 1, with the return leg scheduled for April 9 in South Africa.
Banyana Banyana, who participated in the Olympics in 2012 and 2016 but missed out on the 2020 edition in Japan, is eager to make a return to the multi-sport event.
Matches between both sides are typically tense affairs, but South Africa aims to overcome Nigeria in the final qualifying stage, drawing confidence from their recent impressive performances against their West African counterparts.
