Nigeria’s Super Falcons were unmoved in 36th in the latest FIFA ranking released by the football governing body on Friday.
The Falcons failed to win a game at the Paris 2024 Olympics, crashing out in the group stage after losing their three group games 1-0 to Brazil, 1-0 to World Champions Spain and 3-1 in their last group game against Japan.
They however still maintain the top spot in the continent ahead of second-placed South Africa, who moved up one place to 50th in the world. Morocco also remained unmoved as third in the continent and 59th in the world.
Africa’s other representatives at the Olympics Zambia were up two places to 62nd in the world to consolidate their fourth position in Africa, while Ghana completed Africa’s top 5, down one place to 66th in the world.

USA reclaimed the top position in the world, returning to the summit of the world ranking for the first time in 12 months, up four places, after claiming the Olympic women’s football title in the Paris with a 1-0 victory over Brazil in the final.
England were up one place to second, while former number one ranked team in the world Spain were down two places to third.
Germany remained unmoved in the fourth, while Sweden were up one place to fifth and Sweden rising two places to sixth. Japan were also unmoved in seventh, while Olympics losing finalists Brazil were up one place to eight.
Korea also enjoyed a one place rise to ninth, while France experienced the biggest drop in the top 10, sinking eight places to 10th.
USA, Ecuador, and Nicaragua had the biggest rise in the latest ranking, up four places, while France and North Macedonia dropped the most, down eight places.
The next FIFA Women’s World Ranking will be released on 20 December 2024.
