Rivers Hoopers have added Kelvin Nosa Amayo to their roster ahead of the fourth season of the Basketball African League.
The Kingsmen will face Senegal’s AS Douanes, Rwanda’s Armée Patriotique Rwandaise Basketball Club, commonly known simply as APR, and Tunisia’s US Monastir in the Sahara Conference of the competition billed for May 4-12 at the Dakar Arena, Senegal.

Hoopers who crashed out in the group phase of the last edition will be hoping to make it out this time around to compete with the best in an eight-game, single-elimination Playoff and Finals in Rwanda.
The Port Harcourt-based club announced the capture of the Canadian-born player of Nigerian descent on their social media platform, “Kelvin Amayo has signed for the KingsMen ahead of season 4 of @thebal.He led Stade Malien to a 3rd place finish in their maiden season last year.
“The 32-year-old guard averaged 7.4 pts, 4.8 assists, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.4 steals in eight games played for the Malian side last year.”

The acquisition of the guard who last played for Stade Malien will be an added advantage for the Kingsmen who are looking to go far in the competition. They had previously signed American guard, Will Perry who had previously played for Rwandan clubs Titans and Patriots.
According to reports, Hoopers are not done yet as they will be looking to add more players with continental and international experience to their squad ahead of BAL, which is the most prestigious inter-club basketball competition in Africa.
