Nigerian goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, who impressed at the recent Africa Cup of Nations, is facing a transfer battle between several clubs including Steven Gerrard’s Saudi Professional League side Al Ettifaq and English Championship club Queens Park Rangers.
Nwabali’s calm and assured performance helped the Super Eagles reach the final of the AFCON, where they were narrowly defeated by Ivory Coast. His impressive display put him on the radar of clubs in Belgium, France, Germany, and Saudi Arabia.

In South Africa, Kaizer Chiefs are also interested in Nwabali as a long-term replacement for their aging goalkeepers.
However, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Saudi club Al Ettifaq and English Championship side Queens Park Rangers are leading the chase for his signature.
“Nigeria GK Stanley Nwabali, on the list of different clubs as Al Ettifaq in Saudi and Queens Park Rangers in UK have enquired about him. His South African club Chippa United will consider his future move in the next months.”
Nwabali’s current club, Chippa United, is open to selling him for the right price, meaning a transfer could happen in the coming months.
