Serbian giants Partizan Belgrade have made a renewed offer for Nigerian basketball center Charles Bassey as they continue their search for a proven big man to bolster their roster.

Bassey, selected in the second round (53rd overall) of the 2021 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers, has also played for the San Antonio Spurs. He recently joined the Atlanta Hawks on a 10-day exhibition contract ahead of the 2025/26 NBA season.

According to reports, Partizan had previously held talks with the Lagos-born center during the summer, but negotiations fell through. Now, the EuroLeague side has returned with a fresh offer, hoping to secure Bassey’s services.

Italian basketball insider Andrea Calzoni confirmed the development, writing, “KK Partizan made a new offer to Charles Bassey. The Serbian team is still looking for a center and has returned to one of last summer’s goals. Nothing definitive yet, but KK Partizan wants to add a number 5 to the team soon.”

Bassey has shown flashes of his rebounding dominance in preseason action with the Hawks — scoring two points in his debut against the Houston Rockets, and following it up with a strong performance of seven points, 17 rebounds, and one assist in a 119–118 win over the Miami Heat.

Partizan have had a mixed start to their 2025/26 EuroLeague campaign, winning two and losing two, but remain unbeaten in the ABA League after their opening two games.
