Victor Osimhen is yet to return to full training after Galatasaray confirmed that the striker only “worked out in the gym with a physiotherapist” on Friday, Bold Sports reports.
Osimhen sustained a hamstring strain while on international duty with Nigeria during the final of the African World Cup Qualifying Play-off Tournament in Morocco against DR Congo. The match ended 1–1 in regulation time before Nigeria lost 4–3 on penalties.
The Super Eagles forward did not feature in the second half, prompting speculation among fans that he had fallen out with head coach Eric Chelle at halftime. However, upon his return to Turkey, the club clarified that he had indeed picked up a hamstring injury.
On Friday, Osimhen resumed training for the first time since undergoing treatment but was limited to gym work under close supervision from the club’s physiotherapist, Galatasaray said in a statement providing updates on player fitness and availability.

“Yunus Akgün continued his adaptation work in the gym and on the field. Victor Osimhen worked out in the gym with a physiotherapist after his treatment,” the club said on its official website.
The in-form Nigerian striker is expected to miss Galatasaray’s league match against Gençlerbirliği S.K. on Saturday. He also faces a race against time to be fit for their UEFA Champions League clash against Royale Union Saint-Gilloise on Tuesday.
According to respected football data site Transfermarkt, the 26-year-old is projected to return on November 26, just in time for Galatasaray’s derby against arch rivals Fenerbahçe on December 1.
