William Troost-Ekong could not prevent another setback for Al-Kholood as they slumped to a fourth consecutive defeat in the Saudi Pro League, losing 2–1 to Al-Hazem, who came from behind to claim victory at the Al-Hazem Club Stadium.

Ramiro Enrique put Al Kholood ahead in the third minute, but the visitors equalised in the 30th minute through Elias Mokwana before Omar Jahed Al Somah struck the winner seven minutes later.

Despite several attempts to find a way back into the game, Al Kholood could not break through again as Al-Hazem held firm to secure only their second win of the season.

The defeat leaves Al-Kholood with six losses in nine matches and extends their losing streak to four, a worrying run that has dropped them to 10th place on the table.

Troost-Ekong played the full 90 minutes but was unable to influence the result. He will now look to help lift the team’s morale ahead of their next fixture against Al-Khaleej next Friday.
