The future of Emmanuel Dennis is one to watch in the coming days, with Nottingham Forest working on options to offload the Nigerian striker before the transfer window closes on September 1, Bold Sports reports.
According to transfer expert Ben Jacobs, one possibility being discussed by both parties is a mutual contract termination, as Dennis is not viewed as part of Forest’s plans going forward.
The club have recruited massively in attack this summer, bringing in Brazilian striker Igor Jesus from Botafogo before signing Arnaud Kalimuendo-Muinga from Rennes. This is in addition to Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi who may also have to leave soon in order to get consistent game time.
Emmanuel Dennis spent the second half of last season on loan at Blackburn Rovers, but his time at Ewood Park failed to meet expectations. He made his debut in the FA Cup against Wolves before featuring in the Championship against Swansea.

However, his spell quickly derailed after a red card in Blackburn’s 1-1 draw with Norwich City, limiting his opportunities. At the end of the season, he made just seven appearances in all competitions, failing to make a significant impact.
Reports suggest that Italian clubs are monitoring Dennis’ situation closely. A late move abroad remains on the table, with the Nigerian keen to revive the form that once made him one of the Premier League’s most exciting forwards.
Back in the 2021-22 season, Dennis enjoyed an impressive campaign with Watford, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists despite the club’s relegation. That stellar form convinced Nottingham Forest to invest in his services, but in the three seasons since, the striker has managed just six goals in all competitions.

As the transfer deadline approaches, the 27-year-old faces a crucial decision that could define the next chapter of his career.
