Chiamaka Nnadozie’s heroics weren’t enough to save Brighton Women from a 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur Women on Sunday, their second loss of the 2025/26 Women’s Super League season.
The Super Falcons goalkeeper, making her fifth appearance of the campaign and chasing a third clean sheet, was beaten early as Spurs struck in the 26th minute. Cathinka Tandberg tucked home from close range after a precise low cross from Jessica Naz.
Despite enjoying more possession (53% to Spurs’ 47%), Brighton were second best in attack.

Tottenham carved out 11 shots, seven on target, with Nnadozie pulling off six fine saves to keep her side in the contest. Brighton, by contrast, managed just two efforts on target from eight attempts, both comfortably dealt with by Spurs goalkeeper Lize Kop.
Nnadozie, recently ranked the fourth-best goalkeeper in the world, once again stood out with a stellar individual performance, though Brighton’s lack of cutting edge proved costly.
Next up for Brighton is a Women’s Cup clash away at West Ham on Wednesday, followed by another tough road test against European champions Arsenal, who themselves have struggled for consistency this season.
The Seagulls currently sit sixth on the WSL table with two wins, one draw, and two defeats from their opening five matches.
