The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed the reappointment of Manu Garba as the head coach of the U17 boys national team, the Golden Eaglets, Bold Sports reports.
The decision was ratified by the Federation’s Executive Committee following a recommendation from its Technical and Development Sub-Committee. Garba, a seasoned tactician, previously led the Golden Eaglets to a historic triumph at the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
Garba returns to the role with a wealth of experience, having guided the team to multiple global tournaments.
In addition to the 2013 success, he also steered the squad to the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil and has managed the team on two other occasions, making him one of the most experienced figures in youth football within the country.

In a similar move on the women’s side, the NFF has appointed Edo Queens gaffer Moses Aduku as head coach of the U20 girls national team, the Falconets.
The endorsement of Aduku’s appointment was also made by the Executive Committee upon the recommendation of the Technical and Development Sub-Committee. He succeeds Chris Danjuma who led the team at the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
Aduku brings considerable pedigree in the women’s game, having previously managed top-flight sides and worked with the national team. He has had successful spells with Bayelsa Queens and Edo Queens and was part of the Falconets’ technical crew that reached the quarter-finals of the 2022 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.

Both coaches are expected to assume their roles officially on Sunday as they begin preparations for key assignments.
The Falconets are gearing up for a 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifying clash against Rwanda in September, while the Golden Eaglets will compete in the WAFU B U17 Boys Tournament, which Nigeria will host during the same period.
