The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Namibia’s Antsino Twanyanyukwa as the centre referee for the final of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations between hosts Morocco and Nigeria’s Super Falcons, scheduled for Saturday at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.

Twanyanyukwa will be assisted by Alice Umutesi of Rwanda (Assistant Referee 1) and Tabara Mbodji of Senegal (Assistant Referee 2). Salima Mukansanga (Rwanda) will oversee Video Assistant Referee (VAR) duties, supported by Letticia Viana (Eswatini) as VAR 1 Assistant and Diana Chikotesha (Zambia) as VAR 2 Assistant, according to CAF.

The Super Falcons are aiming to win a record-extending 10th WAFCON title, while the Atlas Lionesses are seeking their first continental crown — and redemption on home soil after narrowly losing the 2022 final to South Africa.

To reach the final, Nigeria produced a dominant 5-0 win over Zambia in the quarterfinals before edging South Africa 2-1 in a tense semifinal. Morocco, on the other hand, saw off fellow West African sides Mali and Ghana on their path to the final.

Saturday’s clash will mark the fourth WAFCON meeting between Nigeria and Morocco. The Super Falcons thrashed the North Africans 8-0 and 6-0 in their first two meetings in 1998 and 2000.

However, Morocco famously eliminated Nigeria in the semifinals of the 2022 edition via a dramatic penalty shootout after the Falcons had two players sent off.

Twanyanyukwa was the center referee for Nigeria’s final Group B game against Algeria, which ended in a goalless draw.
