Nigeria’s Super Falcons have qualified for the women’s football event of the 2024 Olympics in Paris after beating South Africa 1-0 on aggregate.
Qualification for the multi-sports event had eluded the Super Falcons for 16 years having last qualified for the Olympics in 2008 in South Korea.
Nigeria put up an impressive performance all-round display to keep their arch-rivals at bay, holding the hosts to a goalless draw at the end of 90 minutes.

Nigeria had put a strong qualification foot forward after earning a 1-0 win over the Banyana Banyana in the first leg at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja last Friday thanks to a converted penalty by Atletico Madrid forward, Rasheedat Ajibade.
