Getafe head coach José Bordalás has admitted he is strongly opposed to the potential departure of Chrisantus Uche, as Wolverhampton Wanderers push to complete a €20 million move for the Super Eagles midfielder, Bold Sports reports.
Speaking to DAZN España after Getafe secured their second consecutive win of the season against Sevilla on Monday, Bordalás stressed Uche’s importance to the team.
“Let’s hope he doesn’t leave. I’m against him leaving because he’s a vital player. It gets harder every day, and we can’t start from scratch every season. If he leaves, it’s a huge problem. I understand the situation, but we can’t be at the mercy of that.”

Despite Bordalás’ resistance, the transfer has progressed significantly at club level. According to Getafe president Ángel Torres, both clubs have signed all the documents for Uche’s sale, but the 22-year-old midfielder has yet to approve the deal.
Diario AS journalist Eduardo Burgos reports that Uche is currently blocking the transfer, unhappy with how negotiations have been handled.
Wolves, managed by Vítor Pereira, view Uche as a key target following a poor start to their Premier League campaign, as they have suffered back-to-back defeats to Manchester City and Bournemouth without scoring a goal.

Meanwhile, Uche has been in excellent form for Getafe, delivering a goal and an assist in their 2-0 opening-day victory over Celta Vigo. Last season, he contributed four goals and six assists in 33 La Liga appearances, establishing himself as one of the club’s most influential players.
For now, the deal remains on hold, with Wolves awaiting Uche’s final decision.
