Junior D’Tigress point guard Idubamo Beggi has been recognized for her outstanding performance at the FIBA U-18 Women’s Afrobasket in Pretoria, South Africa, by being named to the All-Star team.
The 18-year-old played a pivotal role in leading Nigeria to a historic second-place finish, leading the team in scoring, points per game, assists, free throws, and game efficiency. Beggi averaged an impressive 18 points and 5 assists per game, showcasing her significant impact on the team.

Her exceptional performance earned her a spot among the top five ranked players in the competition, alongside Mali’s Oummou Koumare (MVP), Mama Sidiki Doumbia (Mali), Damaris Emedie (Cameroon), and Resty Nanangwe (Uganda).
Beggi’s dominance extended to various statistical categories, as she ranked in the top 10 for efficiency, points per game, total points, free throws, and assists.
Her impressive showing at the U-18 level has led to growing calls for her promotion to the senior women’s national team, where she could learn from experienced players like Ezinne Kalu and Promise Amukamara.
