Hellas Verona have announced the signing of Nigerian striker Gift Orban on a season-long loan from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim, with an option to buy.
The Italian club confirmed the arrival of the 23-year-old on Wednesday after he completed his medical earlier in the day, beating French side Toulouse to his signature.
According to Sportitalia, the fee is €0.5m for the one-season loan and the option to make it permanent is worth another €8m.

“Hellas Verona FC announces that it has acquired – on loan with an option to buy – the sporting performances of forward Gift Orban from TSG Hoffenheim,” the club statement read in part.
“Hellas Verona FC extends a warm welcome to Gift, wishing him a future full of personal and professional success in the Gialloblù shirt.”
Orban burst onto the scene at Belgian side KAA Gent before earning a move to French Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Lyon, where his spell was plagued by inconsistency. He later joined Hoffenheim during the January transfer window, scoring six goals in 18 appearances.
The Nigerian forward will now be looking to revive his career under manager Pablo Zanetti and find the consistency that has eluded him so far.
