Nigeria’s Falconets have booked their place in the final round of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers after thrashing Rwanda’s She-Amavubis 4-0 at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, on Saturday, Bold Sports reports.
The Nigerian side, who carried a 1-0 advantage from the first leg in Kigali, wasted no time stamping their authority at home. Janet Akekoromowei’s fine run opened up the Rwandan defence before her cut-back to Precious Oscar forced a goalkeeper error that handed the Falconets an early lead.
Fatimoh Tumininu doubled the advantage with a stunning free-kick midway through the first half, putting Nigeria firmly in control before the break.

The second half followed the same pattern, with the hosts dominating possession and creating chances. Akekoromowei was once again at the heart of the action, drilling a long-range effort that slipped past the Rwandan goalkeeper for Nigeria’s third.
Taiwo Afolabi completed the rout in the closing minutes, sealing a 4-0 victory on the day and a 5-0 aggregate triumph across both legs.
With the result, the Falconets advance to the third and final round of qualifiers, where they will face the winner of the Senegal vs Algeria tie for a place at next year’s tournament.
The 12th edition of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup will be held in Poland from September 5–27, 2026, marking the country’s first time as hosts. A total of 24 teams from six confederations will compete for the title.
