Nigerian forward Clinton Jephta has completed a loan move to FC Inter Turku from Niger Tornadoes. The agreement runs until July 2026 and includes an option to make the transfer permanent. The move places the 19-year-old in the Finnish Veikkausliiga as he continues his development in Europe.
Jephta arrives in Finland after building momentum both at club and international level. He played a key role for Nigeria at the African U-20 Cup of Nations, where the team finished third. During his trial period earlier this year, he featured in three League Cup matches and scored once, notably against Inter Turku. That performance helped convince the club to secure his services.
The young attacker can operate across multiple forward positions, offering tactical flexibility. Inter Turku had monitored him closely during the winter, and he also featured in a League Cup clash against FC Lahti during that period.
After completing his residence permit process, Jephta has already joined team training this week. He is now available for immediate selection, giving the coaching staff more attacking options as the season progresses.
Inter Turku’s scouting department views Jephta as a long-term project with high potential. Head of Return Scouting Viki Savonen highlighted the club’s belief in his rapid development path. His ability to adapt quickly during trials played a major role in securing the deal.
This transfer also reflects Inter Turku’s strategy of identifying emerging talent from Africa and integrating them into European football.
For Jephta, this move offers a clear pathway into European football. Regular minutes in the Veikkausliiga could shape his career trajectory. For Inter Turku, it is a calculated investment in youth with upside.
