Atalanta have rejected Inter Milan’s latest offer for Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman, according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà, Bold Sports reports.
The new bid, reportedly worth €42 million plus €3 million in bonuses, still falls short of the Bergamo club’s €50 million valuation although Lookman’s camp has told Atalanta once again about his clear desire to leave.
A key meeting was held earlier today between representatives of both clubs to attempt to bridge the gap in negotiations. Inter followed up with a new written offer after their initial €40 million proposal was turned down.
However, despite the improved bid, Atalanta deemed the €42m + €3m package inadequate and swiftly rejected it, maintaining their firm stance on the player’s market value.

While the official asking price remains €50 million, sources indicate that Atalanta may be open to accepting a structured deal worth €45 million upfront plus €5 million in add-ons. As of now, that specific offer has not been submitted by Inter.
The Nerazzurri are now at a crossroads—either return with an acceptable offer or begin exploring alternative targets. Club president Giuseppe Marotta has already stated that the club won’t allow talks to stretch beyond July 31.
Nonetheless, Inter Milan are determined to reinforce their squad with Lookman, whom they see as a perfect fit for their ambitions heading into the new Serie A season. His experience and attacking output are viewed as key assets, especially as the club looks to reclaim the Scudetto and compete strongly in Europe.
