Atalanta have confirmed the appointment of Raffaele Palladino as their new head coach following the dismissal of Ivan Juric, with the club hoping for a turnaround in form after a difficult start to the Serie A season.
The Bergamo-based side, home to Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman, currently sit 13th on the Serie A table with 13 points. Palladino, 41, joins the Nerazzurri on a contract running until June 30, 2027.
“Atalanta BC is pleased to announce that the role of technical director of the First Team has been entrusted to Raffaele Palladino,” the club said in an official statement, adding that the Italian manager brings significant experience from his time at Monza and Fiorentina.
Palladino, who began his coaching career with Monza’s youth teams, has managed 126 professional matches; 73 with Monza and 53 with Fiorentina, guiding the latter to a sixth-place finish in Serie A last season and the semi-finals of the 2024/25 UEFA Conference League.

He will be joined by a new technical staff, including Stefano Citterio (assistant coach), Federico Peluso (technical assistant), Fabio Corabi (athletic trainer), Nicola Riva (assistant athletic trainer), Andrea Ramponi (match analyst) and Mattia Casella (match analyst).
He will also work with others who have already been present since the start of the season including Cristian Raimondi (technical assistant), Marco Savorani (goalkeeping coach), Sabino Oliva (goalkeeping coach), Marcello Iaia (performance analyst), Stefano Brambilla (match analyst) and Andrea Vigni (athletic coach).
“The Percassi and Pagliuca families, and the entire club, extend a warm welcome to Mr. Raffaele Palladino and his staff to the Nerazzurri family,” Atalanta added.
Lookman, who has struggled for form this season with just one goal contribution in 10 appearances under Juric, will be aiming to rediscover his spark under Palladino after an impressive 2023-24 season that saw him net 20 goals and provide six assists in 40 games.

Palladino’s immediate task will be to steady the team’s performances and reignite the attacking flair that once made Atalanta one of Serie A’s most exciting sides.
