Doma United’s Bitrus Philemon scored a late equaliser to rescue a 2–2 draw against Ikorodu City in their Nigeria Premier Football League encounter at Pantami Stadium, Gombe, on Saturday.
Philemon completed his brace in the 90th minute, cancelling out Elijah Onyeuche Ujunwa’s late strike and denying the visitors an away victory in the matchday 11 fixture.
The hosts had taken the lead through a first-half penalty from Philemon, but Ikorodu responded through Tomiwa Awojobi to restore parity before the interval.
With the teams level at 1–1 at half-time, neither side had secured control of the contest. The decisive scoring exchanges came late, with both teams finding the net inside the closing stages.

Ujunwa put Ikorodu ahead in the 85th minute, turning the game around after the visitors had conceded first. Their advantage lasted only five minutes before Philemon struck again to bring Doma level.
His second goal ensured Doma took a point from a match in which they had held the lead and subsequently faced defeat.
For Ikorodu, it was a second successive 2–2 league draw, following their home meeting with Shooting Stars on October 25. The circumstances were different this time: having recovered from two goals down against Shooting Stars, they surrendered a late lead in Gombe.
The Oga Boys’ next scheduled league fixture is against Inter Lagos at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, on November 8.
