Nigeria’s D’Tigress have named a 12-player roster for the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup scheduled to take place from September 4 to 13 in Berlin, Germany.
The roster was announced on Wednesday via the Official Team Nigeria Basketball account on X (formerly known as Twitter), as the six-time African champions put the finishing touches to their preparations for the global tournament.
Led by head coach Rena Wakama, the squad features a blend of experienced players and emerging talents, with captain Amy Okonkwo’s return providing a major boost ahead of the competition.
Okonkwo had temporarily left the team’s training camp in August to join the Portland Fire on a hardship contract for the remainder of the WNBA season. She has since returned to the squad and will captain Nigeria at the World Cup.

D’Tigress arrived in Berlin on Wednesday after a 37-day training camp that took them across the United States, China and Spain as part of their preparations for the tournament.
Nigeria have been drawn in Group B alongside Hungary, South Korea and France, with their campaign set to begin against South Korea on September 4.
They will face Hungary on September 5 before rounding off their group-stage fixtures against France on September 7.
