Sodiq Ibrahim scored twice as Shooting Stars swept aside Abia Warriors 4–1 in Ibadan on Sunday, producing the biggest victory of the NPFL’s Matchday 11 fixtures, Bold sports reports.

Damilola Akinola and Issa Yusuf also scored for the hosts at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, with the victory lifting Shooting Stars to 15 points from 11 matches.

Salisu Yusuf’s side seized control early. Akinola opened the scoring after receiving a pass from Ibrahim, giving the hosts the platform for a dominant first half.

Abia Warriors goalkeeper Johnson Nmecha made several interventions to keep his team in the contest, but Shooting Stars eventually extended their advantage through Ibrahim.

The forward headed home from an Issa Yusuf corner before adding his second in first-half stoppage time, finishing from an Olaoke Olajobi pass to send the hosts into the interval 3–0 ahead.

Abia Warriors coach Imama Amapakabo made four changes at half-time, and his side eventually reduced the deficit through Emeka Obioma.

The response came too late to threaten Shooting Stars’ grip on the match. Issa Yusuf struck from distance in the closing stages to restore the three-goal cushion and complete an emphatic home win.

Elsewhere, Kano Pillars defeated Nasarawa United 2–0 at the Sani Abacha Stadium, ending the visitors’ five-match unbeaten run.

Ibrahim Yahaya opened the scoring before Fabian Nworie added the second. The victory moved Pillars to 18 points, one ahead of Nasarawa United.

Bendel Insurance also reached 18 points after winning 2–1 away to Kwara United, while Enyimba collected three valuable points with a 1–0 victory over Kun Khalifat.

Katsina United beat Sporting Lagos 2–1. Plateau United and Warri Wolves drew 1–1, as did Inter Lagos and Ranchers Bees.

Those results left Rivers United, Rangers, Bendel Insurance and Kano Pillars level on 18 points following Rivers’ previously reported 1–1 draw with Rangers.
