Ademola Lookman came off the bench and helped create a late chance, but Atlético Madrid suffered a 2–0 home defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday, Bold sports reports.
The Super Eagles forward entered the contest in the 59th minute, replacing Alexander Sørloth as Diego Simeone attempted to turn the game around after Bayern’s opening goal.
Lennart Karl broke the deadlock in the 54th minute before Konrad Laimer doubled the visitors’ advantage 20 minutes later at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.
Lookman’s clearest contribution came in added time when he worked his way past Harry Kane on the left and supplied Dávid Hancko inside the penalty area. The defender turned and shot, but Manuel Neuer saved to preserve Bayern’s clean sheet.
Atlético had reached half-time level, keeping the visitors out during a tightly contested opening period.
Their resistance ended when Karl dispossessed Robin Le Normand inside the box and lifted his finish over Jan Oblak.

Simeone responded with a triple substitution five minutes later, introducing Lookman, Kang-in Lee and Koke. The appearance marked Koke’s 750th game for Atlético.
The changes could not prevent Bayern from extending their lead. Kane found Laimer on the right side of the penalty area, and the Austrian fired powerfully past Oblak from a narrow angle.
Bayern also had a further effort disallowed for a foul on Atlético’s goalkeeper, while the hosts continued searching for a route back into the contest.
Lookman’s late delivery offered one final opportunity, but Neuer’s intervention ensured Atlético finished without a goal.
The result left the Spanish side on four points from four league-phase matches, while Bayern moved to eight.
Atlético now turn their attention to a home league meeting with Barcelona on November 8, giving Lookman and his teammates another major test before the international break.
