Plymouth responded in the 21st minute through Oliver Irow, who reduced the deficit and gave the hosts renewed hope of mounting a comeback.

That comeback was completed in the 54th minute when substitute Xavier Amaechi found the net just eight minutes after coming on to level the scores at 2-2.

Coventry, however, regained control in the 67th minute as another substitute made an instant impact with Ephron Mason-Clark restoring the Sky Blues’ lead just five minutes after his introduction. Victor Torp then put the result beyond doubt in the 78th minute, converting from the penalty spot to complete Coventry’s 4-2 victory.
