The Super Falcons arrived in Rabat on Saturday ahead of their opening match of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), making a stylish entrance as they shifted base from Casablanca for the start of their title defence.
After spending 12 days in Casablanca fine-tuning preparations for the continental tournament, the ten-time African champions departed for Morocco’s capital at around 1:45pm, where they will remain throughout the group stage of the competition.
The players turned heads on arrival in coordinated traditional Nigerian attire, proudly showcasing the country’s rich cultural heritage. Dressed in striking green-and-white Adire outfits inspired by Nigeria’s national colours, the squad paired the flowing ensembles with matching gele headwraps, creating a unified and elegant look.
Several players completed the outfit with sunglasses and simple accessories, while broad smiles reflected the confidence and excitement within the camp as they posed together for photographs.

Their arrival marked the final phase of preparations before competitive action begins, with the team now fully focused on reclaiming the continental crown.
Nigeria will kick off their Group C campaign against Malawi on Tuesday at the Al Madina Stadium in Rabat before returning to the same venue on August 1 to face Zambia in what is expected to be their toughest group fixture. The Super Falcons will then conclude the group stage against Egypt at the Olympic Stadium on August 5.
The tournament, which runs from July 26 to August 16, presents another opportunity for the Super Falcons to underline their dominance in African women’s football. Nigeria will be chasing a record-extending 11th WAFCON title, having lifted the trophy for the 10th time at the previous edition in Morocco.
Beyond continental glory, there is also an added incentive, with a place in the semifinals guaranteeing qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The squad combines experienced campaigners with exciting new faces eager to make their mark on the biggest stage in African women’s football. Veterans Francisca Ordega and Osinachi Ohale are bidding to win a record sixth WAFCON title, further cementing their place among Africa’s most decorated internationals.
For tournament debutants including Comfort Erhabor, Fatima Oloko, Rofiat Imuran and Joy Omewa, the competition offers an opportunity to experience WAFCON for the first time and contribute to Nigeria’s pursuit of yet another continental triumph.
With preparations now complete and the team settled in Rabat, attention turns firmly to Tuesday’s opener against Malawi as the Super Falcons begin another quest to retain their status as queens of African football.
