Eintracht Frankfurt have reportedly reached an agreement with Belgian champions Club Brugge for the signing of Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika in a deal worth around €9 million.
According to footmercato.net, the Bundesliga side have finally secured their primary midfield target after months of interest. Onyedika is expected to undergo a medical early next week before signing a contract that will keep him at the club until 2030.
As earlier revealed, Frankfurt’s pursuit of the Nigerian international has been long-standing. The German club made an attempt to sign him during the previous summer transfer window on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy, but Club Brugge were unwilling to part with one of their key players.
After another impressive campaign in the 2025/26 season, Frankfurt reignited their interest in the 25-year-old. Although Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad also submitted an official proposal to sign the midfielder, the Bundesliga outfit now appear to have won the race for his signature.

Onyedika joined Club Brugge from Danish club Midtjylland in 2022 and has developed into one of the team’s most influential players. During his time in Belgium, he made 183 appearances across all competitions, scoring nine goals and providing five assists.
His spell at Club Brugge has been marked by considerable success, helping the club win two Belgian Pro League titles, the Belgian Cup, and the Belgian Super Cup. With his move to Germany now close, his four-year stay in Belgium appears set to come to an end.
Frankfurt endured a disappointing 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign, finishing eighth with 44 points. The club will hope Onyedika’s arrival strengthens their midfield as they look to mount a stronger challenge under new head coach Adolf Hütter in the 2026/27 season.
