Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad have joined the race to sign Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika as they look to beat Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt, who are also pushing to complete a deal for the Club Brugge star.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Al Ittihad have submitted an official proposal to Club Brugge after entering the race for the Nigerian international. The report also states that Eintracht Frankfurt are continuing to push for the transfer.

Club Brugge are understood to value Onyedika at around €10 million, with the midfielder entering the final year of his contract. The Belgian champions are therefore open to selling the 25-year-old this summer rather than risk losing him for free next year.

Frankfurt have tracked Onyedika for some time, having unsuccessfully attempted to sign him on a loan deal with an obligation to buy last year. After another impressive campaign in Belgium, however, the Bundesliga side have renewed their pursuit.

The Nigerian midfielder played a key role as Club Brugge won the Belgian Pro League title and the Belgian Super Cup last season, further cementing his status as one of the club’s most influential players.

Since joining Club Brugge from Danish side Midtjylland in 2022, Onyedika has made 183 appearances in all competitions, registering nine goals and five assists while establishing himself as a regular for both club and country.
