Bulgarian First League side Botev Plovdiv have completed the signing of Nigerian striker Chidera Michael Okoh from Greek club Asteras Aktor ahead of the 2026/27 season, Boldsports report.

The club confirmed the deal on its official website, adding another attacking option to its squad as preparations continue for the new campaign.

‎The 23-year-old arrives after spending the last two years with Asteras Aktor, where he featured for both the senior and reserve teams. His move marks another step in a career that has already taken him across several European leagues. Standing at 193 centimetres, Okoh brings a strong physical presence to Botev’s frontline as the club looks to improve its attacking options.

‎Okoh becomes Botev Plovdiv’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window. Before his arrival, the Bulgarian club added Asen Chandarov, Georgi Milanov, Dimitar Tonev, Todor Nedelev, Bogdan Kostov and Timothy Awany, with all six joining as free agents.

‎Unlike those arrivals, Botev agreed to pay an undisclosed transfer fee to Asteras Aktor to secure the Nigerian forward’s services. The club also confirmed that Okoh will wear the iconic No. 9 shirt during the 2026/27 campaign.

‎The striker will not be short of Nigerian company at Botev Plovdiv. He joins fellow Nigerians Samuel Kalu, Chimezie Williams, Ifenna Dorgu and Bryan Hein at the club, providing a familiar environment as he begins the next chapter of his career.

‎Okoh began his football career with Nigerian side Divine Praise before moving abroad. He later represented Slovan Liberec in the Czech Republic and Maltese club Mosta before completing a transfer to Asteras Aktor in August 2024.

‎His latest move now takes him to Bulgaria, where he will aim to establish himself as one of the club’s leading attacking players.

‎Supporters will hope the new No. 9 can make an immediate impact and help strengthen Botev Plovdiv’s ambitions during the upcoming Bulgarian First League season.
