The academy confirmed the achievement on its official Instagram page, expressing delight at the team’s performance and confidence ahead of the final.

“We are through to the finals,” the club wrote. “The boys came. They fought. They delivered. We are now officially in the finals of the Moses Simon Foundation U-17 Football Championship and the boys are ready to finish what they started.”

The latest achievement adds to the academy’s growing reputation for producing talented players who have gone on to secure moves abroad. Among the standout names is Zadok Yohanna, who joined AIK in 2025 before sealing a high-profile transfer to Brighton on June 6, 2026.

The Moses Simon Foundation, in partnership with the Kaduna State Football Association and with support from the French Embassy, launched this year’s edition of the U-17 Football Championship in June 2026.

The competition, themed “Discovering Tomorrow’s Stars, Empowering Future Champions,” kicked off on June 6 and is scheduled to conclude on July 5 at Ribadu Cantonment in Kaduna.

The tournament is part of Moses Simon’s efforts to give back to society while providing a platform for talented young footballers within the age category to showcase their abilities and attract the attention of selectors for Nigeria’s U-17 national team.
