Zadok Yohanna Brighton transfer has been confirmed after the Premier League club completed the signing of the Nigerian wonderkid from Swedish side AIK on Saturday.

The Premier League outfit reached an agreement with AIK for a club-record fee of €28 million, with a further €2 million in performance-related add-ons. The 18-year-old winger signed a five-year contract that will keep him at the club until June 2031.

The deal represents a major coup for Brighton, who fended off strong competition from several European clubs to secure Yohanna’s signature.

Bold Sports had earlier reported that Chelsea and Newcastle were among the Premier League sides to submit bids for the highly rated youngster, while a number of Bundesliga clubs and Spanish giants Real Madrid were also monitoring his progress.

For Yohanna, the move marks another significant milestone in a rapid rise to prominence. The Nigerian winger joined AIK from Ikon Allah Academy in Kaduna only last year and quickly established himself as one of the club’s brightest prospects.

He made his senior debut for the Swedish side in August 2025 as a substitute and was handed his first start just three days later, playing the full 90 minutes in a commanding 7-0 victory.

Yohanna continued his development and announced himself on the bigger stage on March 9, 2026, when he scored his first goals for AIK, netting a brace in a 4-0 win over BK Häcken. He followed that performance with another goal a few days later against GAIS, although AIK suffered a 3-2 defeat and were eliminated from the Swedish Cup.

His performances quickly attracted interest from several clubs across Europe, ultimately leading to Brighton winning the race for one of Nigeria’s most exciting young talents.
