Paris FC manager Antoine Kombouaré has challenged Moses Simon to improve his end product despite signs of progress in recent weeks.

‎‎The Nigerian winger, who joined from FC Nantes, has struggled for consistency this season, going 12 consecutive league matches without a goal or assist during a difficult spell for the club.‎‎

Ahead of their clash with Le Havre, Kombouaré revealed that he held direct talks with Simon regarding his performances, making it clear that more is expected from the experienced forward.

‎‎“I simply told him that his performances were unacceptable,” the coach said, explaining that he listened to Simon’s reasons, including adaptation challenges and confidence issues, but insisted on personal responsibility.‎‎

“You can say what you want, but you play first and foremost for yourself, for your family,” he added.‎‎

Despite the blunt message, Kombouaré acknowledged that the winger’s level has improved since his arrival at the club.‎‎

“Between today and the player I saw three weeks ago when I arrived, Moses has regained his confidence, he has the legs, he’s capable of repeating efforts,” he noted.‎‎

However, the manager stressed that improvement must now translate into tangible contributions in attack.

‎‎“Now he needs to be effective, to be able to create goals or score goals himself, that’s what we expect from him,” Kombouaré said.‎‎

Simon has managed just three goals and two assists in 23 league appearances so far, a return that underlines his struggles in front of goal.

‎‎With Paris FC fighting to retain their Ligue 1 status, the coach believes the Nigerian must step up and justify the confidence shown in him by the club.‎‎

“You’ve been able to put in some great performances, the management here has shown you enormous confidence, so you have to be an important part of the team,” Kombouaré concluded.‎‎

As the season enters a crucial phase, Simon will be aiming to build on his recent improvement and rediscover the form that made him a key figure under the same manager in the past.
