Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has described his stunning strike in the 2–1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur as “unique,” insisting not many players can execute such a finish.
Harry Wilson handed the hosts an early advantage in the seventh minute and later combined brilliantly with Iwobi for Fulham’s second goal in the 34th minute. After a neat exchange of passes with Wilson, Iwobi opened up his body and unleashed a first-time side-footed effort from 25 yards that crashed in off the post – a strike that could well be a contender for Goal of the Month.
Tottenham responded through Richarlison in the 66th minute, but they were unable to complete a comeback as manager Igor Tudor endured a second consecutive Premier League defeat.

Reflecting on his goal, Iwobi admitted it was special but revealed it was no surprise to his teammates, as it is something he practices regularly in training.
“Unique. I don’t think anyone else opens up the hip and hits it like that. When the ball was set back, I only had one thought on my mind and I found the far corner. It’s something I do in training, so my team-mates aren’t surprised,” Iwobi said after the game.
The victory boosts Fulham’s hopes of securing European qualification next season. Despite the narrow scoreline and late pressure from Spurs, Iwobi maintained that the performance felt comfortable overall.

“Another London derby – it’s always special when we play in front of our fans. We’re grateful to get the result today.
The scoreline makes it look tight, but we felt we controlled the game and created so many opportunities. We didn’t take them, so it got a bit shaky towards the end, but we stayed strong.”
