Israel Okon delivered an impressive performance at the Tiger Paw Invitational in Clemson, powering to a new personal best of 20.63 seconds to win his 200m section.

The Auburn University track star dominated his heat, finishing comfortably ahead of Alpha Balde, who placed second in 20.92 seconds.

Okon’s time ranked second overall across 14 heats at the meet, with only Tyson Williams posting a faster mark of 20.51 seconds, underlining the quality of his run and his strong early-season form.

In the field events, Jessica Oji also made headlines after landing a throw of 17.74m to finish second in the women’s shot put.

The talented athlete, who recently switched her sporting allegiance from the United States to represent Nigeria, continues to show immense promise on the international stage.

Oji currently holds a personal best of 18.45m, a mark that is two centimetres beyond the African record of 18.43m set by Vivian Chukwuemeka, further highlighting her potential to challenge continental history in the near future.
