Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will depart for Chile on Sunday as preparations intensify ahead of the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, Bold Sports reports.
The seven-time African champions wrapped up their build-up in Nigeria with a convincing 5-0 victory over Access Academy in a friendly played on Friday morning. Meanwhile, some Europe-based professionals who make the final squad are expected to link up with the team en route to South America.
Head coach Aliyu Zubairu will unveil his final list of players on Saturday, with hopes of guiding Nigeria to a first-ever U-20 World Cup title after near misses in the past. The Flying Eagles have twice finished as runners-up — losing to Portugal in 1989 and to Argentina in 2005.

The Nigerian side will set up camp in Chile for two weeks before kicking off their Group F campaign against Norway. Saudi Arabia and Colombia complete the group.
The U-20 World Cup will run from September 27 to October 19 across four Chilean cities: Santiago, Rancagua, Valparaiso, and Talca. Nigeria will be one of four African teams at the global showpiece, alongside continental champions South Africa, Morocco, and Egypt.
Coach Zubairu’s men will be aiming to better their recent outings after settling for silver at the WAFU B U-20 Championship and bronze at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
