Nigerian midfielder Peace Efih has completed a move to Greek Women’s A Division side Panathinaikos, with the club confirming her arrival ahead of the 2026-27 season, Bold Sports reports.
The Athens-based club announced the transfer on Thursday but did not reveal the financial terms or the length of her contract. The Super Falcons midfielder joins Panathinaikos after two productive seasons with fellow Greek club OFI Crete.
Efih arrives in Athens following an impressive run at OFI Crete, where she scored 14 goals in 40 appearances. Her attacking contributions from midfield helped establish her as one of the standout Nigerian players in the Greek league, making her a valuable addition as Panathinaikos targets the league title this season.
The 25-year-old began her career with Rivers Angels before building an extensive career across Europe and Africa. She has also represented Sporting de Huelva, Zaragoza CFF, Bayelsa Queens, Kiryat Gat and Sporting de Braga during her professional journey.
On the international stage, Efih has represented Nigeria across several age categories. She featured for the Flamingos at the 2016 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup before playing for the Falconets at the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. She later earned promotion to the senior Super Falcons.
Speaking after completing her move, Efih expressed her excitement about joining one of Greece’s biggest clubs and outlined her ambitions for the new campaign.
”I am very excited to have signed with Panathinaikos. I look forward to scoring many goals and helping the team achieve its main goal, which is winning the Championship. I can’t wait to get started.”
Panathinaikos will expect the Nigerian midfielder to strengthen their squad with her creativity, experience and eye for goal as they compete for domestic honours during the new season.
