Head Coach Bankole Olowookere has invited 30 players to the camp of Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, as preparations intensify ahead of the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco, Bold Sports reports.
The invited players, including four goalkeepers, nine defenders, nine midfielders, and eight attackers, are expected to report to camp in Abuja on Sunday, September 7, as the team begins its build-up to the global showpiece.
Nigeria, bronze medalists at the 2022 edition, have been drawn in Group D, where they will face Canada, France, and tournament debutants Samoa for a place in the knockout stages.

This year’s tournament which runs from October 17 to November 8, 2025, will mark a historic milestone as Morocco becomes the first African nation to host the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
The competition will feature 24 teams for the first time and matches will be played across four venues in two cities: Prince Héritier Moulay el-Hassan Sports Complex, Prince Moulay Abdellah Sport Complex, Al Barid Stadium and Mohamed VI Football Academy.
The Flamingos secured qualification after overpowering South Africa and Algeria in the qualifying series, and Coach Olowookere has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to build on their previous success.

Nigeria will be aiming to better their 2022 performance, where they claimed third place after defeating Germany in a dramatic penalty shootout.
