Premier League outfit Nottingham Forest have officially announced the departure of Nigerian forward Emmanuel Dennis after both parties agreed to a mutual termination of his contract, Bold Sports reports.
The 27-year-old had long been deemed surplus to requirements at the City Ground, with the club actively exploring ways to move him on following a busy summer of attacking reinforcements. Forest have now opted to end his deal by mutual consent, drawing a line under his time with the team.
Confirming the decision in a statement released on Sunday morning, the club wrote: “Nottingham Forest can confirm that Emmanuel Dennis has left the Club following the mutual termination of his contract. We wish Emmanuel well for the future.”
Dennis joined Forest in 2022 after impressing at Watford, where he stood out despite the Hornets’ relegation by scoring 10 goals and supplying six assists in 33 Premier League appearances.
His time in Nottingham, however, failed to match that success. In his debut season, he registered just two goals and three assists before embarking on loan spells at İstanbul Başakşehir, Watford, and most recently Blackburn Rovers.
The Nigerian endured a frustrating stint at Ewood Park during the second half of last season, managing only one assist and no goals, which discouraged Blackburn from pursuing a permanent deal.

Looking ahead, Dennis’ future remains uncertain, though reports suggest that several clubs in Italy are monitoring his availability. The striker will be eager to reignite the form that once made him one of the Premier League’s most exciting attacking prospects.
