Nigeria’s D’Tigers earned their second win of the ongoing FIBA Afrobasket 2025 with a commanding 87–66 victory over defending champions Tunisia in their second Group B clash at the Pavilhão Multiusos de Luanda, Angola, on Friday evening, Bold Sports reports.
The Nigerians came out firing, racing to a 10–0 run within the first three minutes. Although Tunisia fought back, the Nigerians maintained control to close the opening quarter 29–16.
The North Africans tightened up in the second quarter, but Nigeria’s offense and defense stayed sharp. A late surge from Tunisia trimmed the gap slightly, yet the first half still ended with the D’Tigers in a comfortable 48–33 lead. The second quarter ended 19-17 in favour of D’Tigers.

Josh Okogie was the standout performer of the half, pouring in 19 points and dishing out five assists. Nigeria protected the ball superbly, committing just two turnovers compared to Tunisia’s six.
The D’Tigers’ biggest lead of the half was 22 points, with their most dominant scoring run at 10–0, while Tunisia’s best streak was 6–0.
Nigeria maintained their dominance in the third quarter, outscoring Tunisia 20–14 to carry a commanding 68–47 lead into the final period. The fourth quarter was evenly matched at 19–19, sealing a 87–66 victory for the D’Tigers by a 21-point margin.

After pouring in 19 points in the first half, Okogie picked up right where he left off, finishing with a game-high 33 points, six rebounds, two assists, and one block. Caleb Agada followed with nine points.
Tunisia had two players in double figures, Omar Abada with 15 points and Yacine Toumi with 13.
Nigeria will face Cameroon in their final Group B game on Sunday, a clash set to determine the group winner and secure a potentially easier quarter-final opponent.
