English Championship side Hull City have announced the signing of Nigerian striker David Akintola on a two-year deal, Bold Sports reports.
The 29-year-old, who began his career with Danish club Midtjylland, has spent the past five seasons in the Turkish Super Lig, turning out for Hatayspor, Adana Demirspor, and most recently Çaykur Rizespor.
David Akintola also has experience in Cyprus with top-side Omonia Nicosia and in Norway with Rosenborg, Jerv, and Haugesund.
During his stint with Rizespor, which began in January 2024, he made 49 appearances, scoring four goals and providing nine assists.
Speaking after sealing his move to Hull City, David Akintola expressed his excitement, saying he can’t wait to get on the pitch and help his new team push for Premier League promotion by the end of the season.

“I’m very happy to be here – I cannot describe the feeling. A couple of weeks ago, the club showed interest. It was a very easy decision,” Akintola said in his first interview at the club.
“Because I was in Nigeria, I needed a visa to come, so that’s why it took a little while, but I’m very happy to finally be here.

“Growing up in Nigeria, everybody watches the Premier League. Hull have played in the Premier League before, so it’s a team I’ve known about for a very long time.
Having played in Denmark, Norway, Cyprus and Turkey, Akintola says it is a dream come true for him, having the opportunity to finally play in England.
“Having the opportunity to play here now is a big privilege and I’m grateful. The people here are amazing – everybody has welcomed me very well. I’m looking forward to working with the head coach and bringing a good story to this great team.
“It’s a dream come true. Everybody in Nigeria wants to play in England. It’s what we watch growing up.
“I’m ready to give everything and help the team to achieve big things,” he added.
