Nigeria midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has completed a permanent move from Leicester City to Turkish giants Besiktas for a €8m.
The move comes just days after Super Eagles teammate Victor Osimhen sealed a headline-making transfer to arch-rivals Galatasaray.
Ndidi landed in Turkey on Thursday, where he completed his medical before finalising the deal. Besiktas confirmed the deal in a statement to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) on Friday, revealing they had reached full agreement with both Ndidi and Leicester. The 28-year-old has signed a three-year contract with an option for a fourth.
“It’s really amazing. Joining Besiktas is a really great feeling,” he said.
“It feels really great, very warm, very welcoming. Before I put it [the shirt] on, I kissed the badge which is very important, it shows [my] love.”
“An agreement has been reached with professional footballer Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi for his transfer,” the club said. “A 3+1 year contract has been signed with Ndidi. A total transfer fee of €8,000,000 will be paid to Leicester City Football Club.”

Ndidi leaves Leicester after eight seasons, during which he made over 240 appearances and helped the club lift the FA Cup in 2021. He departs following Leicester’s relegation to the Championship at the end of the 2024/25 season, choosing a fresh challenge in the Turkish Super Lig.
Ndidi is expected to be a central figure in former Machester United’s coach Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s midfield at the Turkish giants as they push for domestic glory.
