Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has officially clinched the 2024–25 Super Lig Golden Boot, adding to his already impressive collection of achievements with Galatasaray this season.
Osimhen was widely expected to secure the Golden Boot well before the season wrapped up, having established a significant gap over his closest rivals. However, his win was officially confirmed yesterday after the Super Lig season came to an end.
The Nigerian striker claimed the Golden Boot with an impressive tally of 26 Super Lig goals, finishing five ahead of runner-up Krzysztof Piatek and six ahead of third-placed Youssef En-Nesyri. His remarkable output saw him score 14 more goals than any other Galatasaray teammate, underlining his crucial role in the club’s Super Lig title victory.

Osimhen has now achieved the rare feat of clinching the Golden Boot in two different top-flight leagues, having previously won the award with Napoli after netting 26 goals in a historic season that saw the club claim their first Serie A title since 1990.
He also becomes the third Nigerian player to win a league Golden Boot this season, joining Genk striker Tolu Arokodare, who finished as the top scorer in the Belgian Pro League, and Cyriel Dessers, who claimed the Golden Boot in the Scottish Premiership.
While Galatasaray fans continue to hope that Osimhen will reconsider and stay at the club, reports indicate that the Nigerian striker is likely to make a move this season, with strong interest coming from clubs in the Premier League, Serie A, and the Saudi Pro League.
Sources also reveal that Osimhen has been given until Friday to decide whether he will remain at Galatasaray. The Turkish champions are reportedly ready to meet the release clause set by Napoli if the striker opts to stay with the club.
