Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will be aiming to secure their place in the quarter-finals of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations when they meet Kenya in their final group stage fixture at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo.
The seven-time African champions kicked off their campaign on a positive note, edging Tunisia 1-0 through a 37th-minute goal from Auwal Ibrahim, before settling for a goalless stalemate in a tense showdown against Morocco.
Due to their results, the Flying Eagles currently occupy second place in their group with four points, level with group leaders Morocco. A draw would be sufficient for Nigeria to secure a spot in the quarter-final, but the team will likely be aiming to top the group, meaning a win could be necessary.

Meanwhile, Kenya have found the net in both of their group matches but are yet to register a point in the tournament, having fallen 3-2 to Morocco in their opening game before a 3-1 loss to Tunisia left them rooted to the bottom of the table.
With their hopes of advancing hanging by a thread, Kenya will need a crucial victory in their final group match against Nigeria’s Flying Eagles to keep their qualification dreams alive, knowing that anything less could seal their exit from the competition.
The Kenyans will be counting on the impressive form of striker Lawrence Ouma, who has already netted twice in the tournament and emerged as one of the standout performers of this year’s AFCON.
With both sides battling for a place in the quarter-finals, all eyes are now on a highly-anticipated clash set for Wednesday, May 7 at 4:00 PM West Africa Time (WAT). Simultaneously, Tunisia will take on fellow North-Africans Morocco, adding further intrigue to what promises to be a dramatic conclusion to the group stage.
