Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali will be aiming for his 10th clean sheet of the season when Chippa United take on struggling SuperSport United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria later today.
Nwabali has been one of the standout goalkeepers in the South African Premiership this season, keeping nine clean sheets in 21 league appearances and conceding just 15 goals. His consistent performances have been instrumental in helping the Chilli Boys climb to eighth place on the league table.
The 28-year-old will be looking to hit double digits in clean sheets against a SuperSport United side that has struggled in front of goal recently, managing just three goals in their last six league outings.

Nwabali has been in top form in recent games, keeping three clean sheets in his last five PSL matches. He is currently joint-second on the league’s clean sheet chart alongside Orlando Pirates’ Sipho Chaine. Magesi FC’s Elvis Chipezeze leads the standings with 11 clean sheets from 23 games.
Meanwhile, South African and Mamelodi Sundowns captain Ronwen Williams has kept eight clean sheets in 14 appearances, conceding only seven goals. The 33-year-old has missed 12 matches in the PSL this season.
Nwabali is now just one clean sheet away from matching his tally of 11 from 26 league games last season. His impressive performances in the PSL have also cemented his status as the Super Eagles’ first-choice goalkeeper.
