Super Falcons duo Francisca Ordega and Ashleigh Plumptre have both been nominated for the best player of the month award in the Saudi Women’s Premier League after their impressive performances for Al Ittihad Ladies.
In the fixtures under consideration, Al Ittihad recorded two wins and one loss in three games, scoring 13 goals and conceding twice. They defeated Al-Amal 3-0 before losing to Al-Nassr who maintained their impressive 16-game winning streak with a 2-1 win. They then trashed Al-Taraji 9-0, moving up to seventh on the table with two matches left to play.
Francisca Ordega was unstoppable for Al Ittihad in these matches, recording two assists against Al-Amal, scoring the only goal against Al-Nassr before netting a remarkable hatrick while contributing another assist against Al-Taraji, taking her tally to four goals and three assists in three games.
On the other hand, Ashleigh Plumptre was superb in defense while contributing impressive numbers in attack, scoring the third goal to seal Al-Ittihad’s 3-0 win over Al-Amal before netting the opening goal and recording three assists in the 9-0 demotion.

Both Nigerian stars will be up against Al-Ahli’s Naomie Kabakaba who scored five goals in three games for her club, contributing to two wins which took them up to second on the standings with 37 points.
Fans are to vote for their player of the month on the official X page of the Saudi Women’s Premier League. Voting will end on Wednesday, April 16, and the award winner will be revealed shortly thereafter.
