On his return to the starting lineup, Gabe Vincent recorded 15 points (6-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt), two blocks and two steals over 27 minutes during Tuesday’s 104-99 win over the Toronto Raptors.
Playing his third game since returning from the NBA’s health and safety protocol, Vincent made important clutch plays to help his side to the slim victory taking the team to 28 wins and 16 losses in the season.
The game also saw the return of centre, Bam Adebayo who had missed the past 22 games with a thumb injury.
Aside from the 15 points, Vincent also recorded two steals and two blocks while guarding players such as OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam and Precious Achiuwa.
“I don’t really care who I guard. That’s the funny thing. In some ways, I think it’s easier to guard guys that are bigger.”
Vincent’s performance in the encounter has earned him plaudits from the head coach of the team, Erik Spoelstra.
“Gabe had a tremendous Summer…He did not have that opportunity last year. He was great.
“He just gave us that added play-making with Kyle out.”
His compatriot, Achiuwa, who was traded to the Raptors from the Heat at the start of the season had six points, one assist and 15 rebounds in 37 minutes.
