Super Eagles winger Samuel Kalu is set to sign for English Premier League side Watford, Bold Sports reports.
According to The Athletic, French Ligue 1 side Bordeaux have reached an agreement with the Hornets to bring Kalu to England.
According to the report, the 24-year-old will have his medical on Wednesday before sealing a three-and-a-half-year deal.
“Watford are on the verge of signing Samuel Kalu after a deal was agreed with Bordeaux, The Athletic understands.
“The fee is expected to be in the region of £2.5-£3.5 million and he is expected to sign a contract until 2026.
“The 24-year-old is due to carry out a medical on Wednesday before completing the move to the Premier League.
“It’s understood that Watford have been tracking Kalu for a number of years and made the decision to move now.
“The Nigerian winger will be Watford’s fourth signing of the January transfer window after Samir, Hassane Kamara and Edo Kayembe,” The Athletic was quoted.
Kalu will be the fifth Super Eagles player at the Hornets after William Troost-Ekong, Oghenekaro Etebo, Emmanuel Dennis and Maduka Okoye.
He joined Bordeaux from Belgian side Gent August 2018, signing a five-year deal.
The winger was omitted from the Eagles AFCON squad by interim coach Austin Eguavoen.
