Former Super Eagles winger Victor Moses has expressed his desire to help Luton Town return to the Premier League after their relegation following just one season in the top flight.
On Tuesday, the Hatters announced the signing of the former Chelsea, Liverpool, and Inter Milan winger on a free transfer. The move strengthens the team as they aim for promotion back to the Premier League next season.

Moses, 33, has made almost 500 career appearances and last played for Russian side Spartak Moscow. His return to English football marks his first since 2019, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his successful stints at Chelsea, as well as loan moves to Liverpool, Inter Milan, Fenerbahçe, and Spartak Moscow, where he eventually made a permanent switch in 2021.
After signing for the club and completing a training camp with the team, Moses spoke about his main objective: helping Luton Town return to the top tier of English football.
“I’m very excited and I can’t wait to get started,” said Moses in his first interview with the EFL Championship side. “I’m looking forward to it, it’s a pleasure to be here. It’s a good time for me to be in the country and start to enjoy my football again.

“After Luton were in the Premier League last season, and coming back down to the Championship, the main objective now is to try and help the club go back up to the Premier League again.”
This isn’t Moses’ first experience in the EFL Championship. In fact, he began his career in the league, spending three seasons with Crystal Palace between 2007 and 2009 before signing with Premier League side Wigan Athletic.
Moses, who has spent a total of nine seasons in the Premier League playing for clubs like Wigan, Chelsea, Liverpool, Stoke City, and West Ham, remarked that Luton were a bit unfortunate to be relegated.
“I thought Luton did well last season and were just a bit unlucky at times. For many of the boys, it might have been their first time playing in the Premier League, but it was a valuable experience.
“But you know what, football is like this sometimes. They were just a little bit unlucky not to stay up last season.
“I thought the boys did fantastically well, but this season’s target is to focus on the next game and take each one as it comes, with the goal of getting back into the Premier League.”
Despite his vast experience and success, Moses emphasizes that he’s here to help the team and the players reach their potential.
“It’s time for me to start working hard and help the lads with the experience that I’ve got,” he said. “It’s a collective effort, so we all need to work together as a team. If we can do that, we can achieve whatever we want this season. It’s all about desire. The ambition is there.
“Technically, every single one of the players here is very good. I’ve trained with them, and the mentality is strong. Now we need to build on that from Saturday and try to get back into a winning situation.”
“I just want to play football. I’ve always said that, I just want to enjoy it. Whatever minutes I get, I just want to go out there and help the lads. That’s the most important thing. I’m fit, ready to go, and eager to help the team win as many games as we can this season.”
