Watford midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru has secured his future with the club, signing a new three-year contract extension.
The 24-year-old’s previous deal was set to expire in 2025, but this extension commits him to Vicarage Road until 2028.
Dele-Bashiru joined Watford in 2019 after leaving Manchester City. Injuries initially hampered his progress, but last season he emerged as a key player under both managers Valerien Ismael and Tom Cleverley.
He impressed with his consistency, making 38 appearances and scoring four goals. This, combined with his productive loan spell at Reading in 2021-22 (39 games, four goals), marks one of his best seasons yet.
The 24-year-old is already back in pre-season training, preparing for Watford’s opening match of the season against Millwall on August 10th.
Meanwhile, Watford are also close to finalizing the sale of Ismael Kone to Marseille. Reports suggest a fee of around £15 million with add-ons has been agreed for the 22-year-old.
