Tochukwu Nnadi made his debut for Olympique Marseille on Sunday, coming on as a 90th-minute substitute for Mason Greenwood in their dramatic 3–2 comeback victory over Olympique Lyon in Ligue 1.

The Nigeria international, who completed a winter transfer move from Belgian side Zulte Waregem, had been training consistently with the squad since arriving in early February but had to wait patiently for his first appearance.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang proved to be the hero for Marseille, netting a late brace in the 81st and 91st minutes to seal an impressive turnaround victory.

Lyon had taken an early lead through Corentin Tolisso in the third minute. Marseille responded in the 52nd minute when Igor Paixao restored parity. Remi Himbert put Lyon back in front in the 76th minute, but Aubameyang’s quickfire double inside ten minutes ensured the hosts claimed all three points.

The victory lifts Marseille to fourth place in the league standings, two points behind Lyon, although they remain 12 points adrift of leaders Paris Saint-Germain. Their primary objective, however, will be securing a top-four finish and qualification for the UEFA Champions League at the end of the season.

For Nnadi, the brief cameo could mark the beginning of a promising chapter with one of France’s most historic and traditional clubs.
